The Odd Couple (Female Version)
written by: Neil Simon
directed by: Michael Powell
performed on: June 7, 8 & 9, 2013
One of Neil Simon’s greatest comedies has been adapted for a female cast. Those great characters of Felix and Oscar have become Florence and Olive. Playing poker has been replaced by Trivial Pursuit, but the nutty characters and famous story have stayed the same. When the original version of this play hit Broadway, it was an instant success and was eventually turned into the hit television show by the same name. In 1985, Neil Simon re-wrote the show so actresses could finally get a crack at playing two of the funniest characters ever written. This is a great comedy by one of America’s greatest playwrights.
